Scots ambulance crashes while rushing to 999 call

AN AMBULANCE rushing to a 999 call created an emergency of its own - after smashing into a garden wall on its way to the call out.

The emergency vehicle was turning into Dronley Road, in the Birkhill area of Dundee, with its lights flashing and siren on when the incident happened at around 8.25pm on Thursday.

Police were called to the scene outside a house at the south end of the road and closed the three-way junction while debris was cleared.

It is understood no one sustained any injuries in the incident.

A witness at the scene said the ambulance crashed after swerving to avoid a van that was coming out of Dronley Road.
