Police name man killed by lorry in Glasgow

An elderly man killed by a lorry in a busy city street has been identified by police.

Joseph Greg Moffat, known as Greg, from Govanhill, was crossing Calder Street in the southside of Glasgow when he was struck by an HGV lorry on Wednesday morning.

Strathclyde Police said the 60 year old died at the scene and the lorry driver, a 37-year-old man, was not injured but was said to be distressed by the accident.

Relatives of the victim have been informed.
