British Transport Police said the man sang “religiously offensive songs” before taking off his belt, wrapping it around his fist and using it to hit a group of men on a train between Glasgow city centre and Carntyne in the city’s east end.

The attack happened at about 11.50pm on Saturday on the busy 11.29pm Glasgow Queen Street to Bathgate service.
