Pensioner reported after crashing into neighbour’s house

A PENSIONER has been reported to prosecutors after her car careered off the road and ploughed into a neighbour’s bungalow.

The 68-year-old woman lost control of her Red Citreon C4 vehicle and it then went into the front of an elderly couple’s home in Norwood Avenue, in Alloa, Clackmannanshire at around 10.25am last Thursday.

The saloon crashed through a wall and ended up colliding with the front of the bungalow, writing off the car in the process.

A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said today: “A 68-year-old woman has been reported to the procurator fiscal in relation with this incident.”

Central Scotland Fire Service said last week there was initial concern over the safety of the elderly couple living in the property, but they were not injured in the incident, while the motorist was uninjured but left “badly shaken”.

Firefighters were also called out to assess the damage caused to the house and to try to make it safe for those living there.

It was discovered there was “structural damage” to the home.
