Mr McGrath died on the A827 between Ballinluig and Grantully on Sunday afternoon when his bike collided with a black Vauxhall Astra travelling in the opposite direction.

He added: “Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going. Officers are particularly keen to trace the driver and any occupants of a black or dark coloured people carrier, or any other vehicle that was travelling on the A827 at around 12.20pm on Sunday, as they may have information that could assist officers with their enquires. These witnesses are urged to contact police in Tayside Division on telephone number 101.

“As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Mr McGrath had been one of three motorcyclists travelling east on the road when the collision happened as they were negotiating a left hand bend. Mr McGrath was thrown from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene.
