A biker has died after a collision with a camper van on the A9.

Part of the Inverness-Thurso stretch of the road was closed in both directions after the crash near Dunbeath, in the Highlands.

It is understood the motorcyclist died at the scene of the incident.

Another man also died after a motorbike crash today.

The crash involving a Black BMW 328 Coupe happened on the A90 at Muchalls, Aberdeenshire at around 4.38am.

The 43-year-old driver died at the scene and police appealed for information.

The vehicle was travelling north at the time.

Sergeant Neil Morrison said: “Investigations into the cause of the collision are at an early stage and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t spoken to police to do so.

“Additionally, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the incident is asked to contact us.”
