The tragic accident came after a 15-year-old boy drowned after jumping from a bridge in Oxford into the River Thames.Emergency services were called at about 8.30pm on Friday when the teenager, Hussain Mohammed, had jumped from Donnington Bridge but did not resurface. His body was recovered two hours later by the fire service.

Detective Inspector Rob France, from Thames Valley Police said: “While it might be tempting to jump into the river during this hot weather, there are hidden dangers under the water and so we would advise against doing so.”

Meanwhile, the body of a canoeist was been found off the west coast of Scotland yesterday. Clyde Coastguard had been searching the waters off Seil Isle, near Oban, for a missing 65-year-old man.
