Man charged with stealing police car in Perth

A MAN is expected to appear in court today, charged with stealing a police car from a divisional force headquarters.

The 27-year old was arrested after a police 4x4 car was taken from them Police Scotland offices at Barrack Street in Perth on Tuesday night.

The car was recovered more than 20 miles away near Blairgowrie. It is not known if the vehicle involved was a marked or unmarked Police car.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “At about 6.55pm on Tuesday Police Scotland Tayside Division road policing officers stopped a stolen vehicle on the A926 near to Blairgowrie. A 27 year-old man has been arrested and charged. He is due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court today.”
