Lorry involved in three-vehicle crash on A9

The emergency services are attending a serious smash on the A9 involving two cars and a lorry.

The three-vehicle collision occurred near Alness at around 3.30pm and has forced the closure of both lanes as police, fire and ambulance personnel deal with those injured.

A police Scotland spokesman said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance at a serious road traffic collision on the A9 near Alness.

“The A9 is blocked to traffic in both the northbound and southbound lanes and diversions have been put in place.

“Traffic travelling northbound is being redirected through Alness village and traffic travelling southbound is being redirected through Milnafua.”
