A 22-year-old man was jailed for nine months in April for shining a laser pen at the police helicopter in Glasgow three years ago.

Strathclyde Police said inquiries were continuing into the latest incident, which happened at around 10.50pm on Monday.

The Civil Aviation Authority said the performance of lasers has improved significantly since the problem emerged in the early 1990s.

The internet had also massively increased the availability of lasers and hampered efforts to restrict sales.
