Grieving fiancée's touching tribute to tragic policeman

A GRIEVING bride-to-be has paid a touching tribute to her policeman fiancé killed in a horror smash while off-duty.

Avid biker PC Rhys Prentice died when his Yamaha R6 and a Peugeot 107 collided on the A7 just north of Galashiels at 12.25pm yesterday.

The 24 year old, based in East Lothian, was pronounced dead at the scene and two occupants of the car seriously injured.

“I can gather no words in my mind to let you know how much I love you. Ride safe up there baby,” fiancé Connie Redpath posted on Facebook.

Friends also took to social media to pay their condolences.

Thomas Ramage posted: “Thinking of you Connie - keep hold of your memories together.”

And Rebecca Jenny added: “So sorry for your loss Connie. Thoughts are with you and your family.”
