Glasgow-bound stag party removed from plane after disruption

A stag party of 25 drunken passengers were finally allowed to fly back to the UK yesterday after being thrown off their flight home on Sunday.

They were forcibly removed from the flight by police in Prague, Czech Republic, after they delayed the flight by two hours.

The Jet2 flight landed back in Glasgow two hours later than scheduled in the early hours of Monday morning.

The passengers, including families with young children, were forced to wait on the plane until the passengers could be removed.

The flight was due to arrive in Glasgow at 10.20pm on Sunday night but was delayed for over two hours.

One passenger, Marina Fraser, praised Jet2 on social media, saying: “Well done for chucking 25 louts off Prague-Glasgow flight just now.

“Although armed police boarding was scary.”

The stag party members were held overnight in the airport before being allowed to fly to Newcastle yesterday afternoon, from where they returned to Scotland by bus.

Phil Ward, managing director of Jet2.com, said: “Our Onboard Together initiative supports our crew to take appropriate action to stamp out disruptive passenger behaviour on our flights, in order to protect both customers and fellow colleagues.

“Many of our customers on this flight were concerned about the group’s behaviour which is why we took decisive action to stop them from travelling.

“We will not let an unruly few stop people from having an enjoyable flight experience.”

A spokeswoman for Jet2.com added: “The decision was made to offload the rowdy group as they were boarding, due to their offensive attitude and continued use of foul and abusive language.

“Police were called to escort the party off the aircraft after some of the men reportedly became abusive and intimidating towards our cabin crew.”
