A woman and man were taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and two other men were taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.

The road was still closed five hours after the accident while crash scene investigators continued their investigations at the scene. Local diversions have been established by Police Scotland.

Meanwhile a 21 year-old motorcyclist is being treated in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for “non life threatening” injuries following a “serious” road accident in the city last night.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At 8.10pm on Thursday, a serious road traffic collision occurred on Hilton Road, Aberdeen, involving a black Vauxhall Meriva motor car and a red and black off road motorcycle. The female passenger of the Vauxhall Meriva was uninjured. The 21 year-old male rider of the off road motorcycle has sustained non life threatening injuries.”

The force is appealing for witnesses to the collision. The spokesman said: “A white Ford Focus was seen travelling with the motorcyclist immediately prior to the collision and if anyone has information on either vehicles movements they can contact Police Scotland on 101.”
