First-class is last word in luxury – and all on a lunchtime flight

SEATS with massage functions and seven-course meals on Royal Doulton fine bone china are among features of Emirates’ first-class cabins.

Lunchtime flights from Glasgow are operated by Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, where first-class passengers will be accommodated in eight private suites.

These have a remote-controlled door, bed, a desk, electronically-controlled mini-bar and room service.

They also boast a 23-inch LCD screen, providing an on-demand entertainment system.

The new evening flights from next month will be flown by smaller Airbus A340-300 planes, which have 12 first-class sleeper seats with a 70-inch seat pitch, electronically-controlled leg rest and lumbar support, and privacy hood.

The on-demand entertainment system also includes hundreds of channels.

Passengers will be provided with down pillows and pyjama-like “sleep suits” and slippers.

Emirates said its first-class cuisine was “worthy of the world’s finest restaurants” with “the finest wines in the air”.

First-class passengers will use the Skylounge business wing at Glasgow airport, although a dedicated first-class lounge is being considered.

There is an Emirates first-class lounge at Dubai airport.
