Edinburgh to Glasgow: Scotrail reports that landslip has closed a train line between the two cities

Replacement bus services are currently running.

Replacement rail services are operating after a landslip has closed a rail line between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Scotrail tweeted that engineers have been called to the landslip near Shotts and are inspecting the line.

Replacement bus services will run between Fauldhouse and Bellshill serving all stations.

Travellers are warned that capacity is limited due to physical distancing, and so the public are asked only to travel if necessary.

This comes 11 days after a landslip caused a train to crash in Aberdeenshire, killing three people.
