Drivers on M74 face delays due to overturned heavy goods vehicle

Drivers on the M74 are being warned of delays this morning due to an overturned heavy goods vehicle.

Police officers are in attendance of an overturned vehicle on the M74 southbound this morning which is causing delays for drivers.

Traffic Scotland reported this morning that the M74 southbound is experiencing delays due to road traffic collision in which a heavy goods vehicle was overturned between junction 6 (Hamilton) and junction 7 (Larkhall).

The incident is located prior to junction 7 at Larkhall and happened at around 5:44am on Thursday morning.

All lanes are affected until further notice and Police Scotland are directing traffic.

Drivers using the road have been asked to use caution on approach to the area and should be aware that there is queuing from junction 6 at Hamilton with lengthy delays to travel.

Next week, Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will begin to resurface the M74 northbound which will see some overnight closures.
