Driver held after man hurt

A DRIVER has been arrested after a car left the road and hit a man in Glasgow, leaving him in a critical condition.

The pedestrian was taken to Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital following the incident involving a Honda Accord in the city’s Haggs Road at around 8pm on Saturday. The 20-year-old driver of the Honda has been arrested. Police believe the Honda and another vehicle may have been driving at high speed on the road before the crash.

The second vehicle and driver have not yet been traced.

Officers are continuing to search for the vehicle and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the two cars in the area to contact them.
