Death crash victim named

Police have named a motorcyclist who died following a collision with a van.

Brent Larnach, 28, from Lybster, was fatally injured in the collision on the A99 Latheron to Wick road at about 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

A passenger in the van was seriously injured and was taken to Caithness General Hospital, in Wick.

The collision happened about a mile south of Thrumster in Caithness.

The road was closed for about six hours while police carried out investigations, and local diversions were put in place.
