Clarity call over Borders rail link

SECRETARY of State for Scotland Michael Moore has written to the Scottish Transport Secretary for reassurance that the rebuilding of the train line between Edinburgh and the Borders is still on track.

It followed speculation that Transport Scotland, which is overseeing the £295 million project, was planning to reduce the length of crossing loops on the single line track in an attempt to cut costs.

MP Michael Moore said: “I have written to Keith Brown to ask him to clarify the plans.”
