Cargo plane makes emergency landing at Aberdeen

A CARGO plane was forced into an emergency landing at Aberdeen last night, it has been confirmed.

The Atlantic Airlines flight was en route to East Midlands Airport in Derbyshire with a cargo of mail, shortly after 8pm last night.

The crew declared an emergency as the aircraft was over Arbroath, and the plane return to Aberdeen where it landed without incident at around 8.15pm.

A spokesman for Aberdeen International Airport confirmed that the flight had returned to the Dyce airfield.

He told the Evening Express: “The flight landed safely at 8.15pm and was stood down by 8.20pm.

“It was a mail cargo flight and no passengers were on board.”
