Body found near summit of Ben Lomond

A man's body has been found near the summit of Ben Lomond.

Ben Lomond is the most southerly of the Munros

Mountain rescuers recovered the body of the 48-year-old following the discovery on Friday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Forth Valley have been made aware that a body has been found close to the summit of Ben Lomond.

“The body of a 48-year-old man was recovered by Lomond mountain rescue team and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”

The 3,193ft mountain, which lies in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, is the most southerly of the Munros.
