Airport strike postponed for talks

A STRIKE of airport workers in a pay dispute has been postponed to allow further talks.

Prospect union members at Dundee Airport were due to begin a 24-hour strike on Monday in an attempt to harmonise their pay with workers at other Highlands and Islands Airports.

Firefighters, air traffic control and aircraft fuelling staff voted unanimously to take industrial action following a ballot last Wednesday.

The union claimed the strike would have shut the airport, but it has been postponed to allow talks between operator Hial, Prospect and Acas.

However the operator said there would be no flights from the airport on the day.
