Traffic calming measures in Ellon

A speed ramp has recently been installed on Ellon's Hillhead Road by Aberdeenshire Council.

Ellon & District councillor Gillian Owen carried out a survey of all residents in the area and received a 90 per cent response rate.

She said: “This area has had issues with speeding vehicles for a long time and Aberdeenshire Council decided that this was the best solution to this ongoing issue.

“It is clear from the responses that residents feel these measures are not working effectively.

“A number of comments make it clear that they felt the ramp should have been further up the hill which would cause drivers to slow immediately on entering the built-up area. A second ramp could be the solution.”

Cllr Owen has forwarded the responses to council officers.
