Town in bloom sets scene for flower children

sisters Olivia, Emma and Rebecca Heart enjoy an ice cream in the floral gardens at the war memorial in North Berwick.

The East Lothian town is in the running for a Britain in Bloom award after making it through to the final stage of this year’s competition.

Local volunteers set up North Berwick in Bloom in the early 1990s and work all year round to promote the town’s appearance and landscape, organising beds and tubs of flowers from one side of the town to the other.
