Thug told to pay headbutt victim £150 compensation

A THUG broke a stranger’s nose in a shopping centre because he didn’t like the way the man was looking at him.

James Alexander was heard to swear and shout at his victim “what are you staring at?” before the assault.

When Bruce Dunlop walked over to challenge him about the remark, Alexander headbutted him in the face.

Alexander, 44, of Livingston, West Lothian, pleaded guilty to the assault in Livingston Centre on March 16 last year.

Sheriff Martin Edington sentenced Alexander to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work within six months and ordered him to pay Mr Dunlop £150 compensation.
