Three more tram workers quit project

THREE more senior staff have quit the city's tram project.

The departure of two construction experts and a risk assessor from TIE means at least six key personnel have left in recent months.

In August, adviser Graeme Bissett left, followed days later by the announcement that finance and performance director Stewart McGarrity was standing down.

Three months later, TIE chair David Mackay walked out.

Now three other senior staff have left or are about to leave the company. Bob Bell, a construction manager on the key InfraCo trams contract, left in autumn; Mark Hamill, a risk manager, has quit and is expected to leave this month; and Graeme Barclay, TIE's construction director, has also quit.

A TIE spokesman said: "It is not at all unusual for staff members to move on to other employment. We are satisfied that TIE still retains the personnel and skill groups required."
