Three injured in Edinburgh car crash

Three people have been taken to hospital after a bus and two cars collided on a busy road.

The driver of the single-decker bus, along with a female bus passenger and a man who was travelling in one of the cars, were all said to be suffering from whiplash injuries.

The crash happened near a community recycling centre on the A7 Old Dalkeith Road in Edinburgh at around 10.30am today.

All three of the casualties were taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said no one was trapped in any of the vehicles, but they were called to help make the scene safe.
