Three high-value cars stolen in East Lothian

THREE high-value cars have been stolen from outside homes by thieves who took the keys from the house.

On Wednesday, a BMW was stolen at 8:10pm from a house that had been broken into in Laburnum Avenue, East Lothian. It came a few days after the thefts of a red Mercedes and a black Audi from a property in Carberry Road, Musselburgh, at around 2:15pm on Monday.

Lothian and Borders Police believe the thefts are linked and hav asked the public for help.

Detective Inspector Keith McKay said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have any information about either of these incidents to contact us.

“At the moment, we are keeping an open mind regarding our inquiries, but it would appear these housebreakings are linked at this stage.”

Four men were seen leaving the property in Musselburgh before driving away in the stolen cars.
