Thieves return stolen painting

A PAINTING stolen from a city library was found hanging from a railing outside the building having apparently been returned by the thieves.

The 4,000 watercolour, I Cannae Hear Ye by Borders artist Tom Scott, was stolen from the Signet Library in Parliament Square earlier this month. It was discovered hanging on a railing outside the library at 8:15am yesterday.

The WS Society – Scotland's independent association for lawyers – owns the library.

Police are continuing to investigate.
