Thieves hit charity store

THIEVES broke into a Salvation Army recycling centre and made off with clothes.

The charity’s clothing recycling unit, at the Oakbank Community Recycling Centre in Mid Calder, West Lothian, was forced open and the contents stolen.

The theft was reported to police yesterday, but police said the break-in may have taken place a number of days previously.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing to anyone who has used the recycling centre in recent days, who noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area, to contact police.”
