These shoes are going cheep

it might not have been chocolate, but this Easter surprise was enough to keep Ava McCaffer smiling at Maddie and Mark’s shoe shop.

The seven-year-old met a chick at the Bruntsfield branch, which has brought in the feathered friends for the school holidays.

The shop’s director Imogen Douglas said: “Rather than hand out chocolate to kids these Easter holidays, we thought we’d get back to nature and we’ve brought six chicks and 11 ducklings to our shops.

“You can see the chicks in the window of our Bruntsfield branch and the ducklings at the shop in Blackhall.

“The children are loving it – as are we. At the end of the week our feathered friends will go back to their farm.”
