Theatre cafe contract up for grabs

SUPPLIERS are being sought for a £600,000 contract for a new cafe at the Usher Hall.

The eatery, within the venue – which reopened last year after a much-delayed refurbishment programme – is to sell “Taste of Scotland-style” platters and alcoholic drinks, as well as tea and coffee.

The cafe, which will be operated by the council, is due to open early next year with seating for 40 to 60 people.

Its focus will be “local and high-end products”.
