Tesco marks launch with gift to Sick Kids

A NEW supermarket has celebrated its launch with a donation to a city children's charity.

Tesco's new branch on Holyrood Road presented staff from the Sick Kids Friends Foundation with a cheque for 500.

Will Guest, corporate and events fundraiser for the charity, said: "We are delighted that the new team at Tesco Express on Holyrood Road have chosen to support the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.

"Donations like this really are vital in our efforts to continue to make sick kids better."

Tesco Express store manager Trevor Livesey said: "We were delighted to be able to support the Sick Kids Friends Foundation as they do such fantastic work for the Edinburgh community."

He added: "My staff and I are really enjoying welcoming our customers into the new store and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community."
