Telford wins praise from inspectors

INSPECTORS have commended Telford College for quality teaching and pioneering work in education.

The college, which currently provides 550 different courses for 17,000 students, was singled out for praise for its excellent and innovative practices in its computer programming, computer games development and hospitality subject areas - all of which were cited as examples of the college's position as a leading light in its sector.

In the report, HMIe inspectors said they were "confident that students were progressing well and achieving relevant, high-quality outcomes" and that the college offered high-quality learning and teaching.

They also said that Telford College was "led well and is enhancing the quality of its services for students and other stakeholders".

Principal Miles Dibsdall expressed his "delight" with the "level of praise and support".
