Teenagers remanded on Clutha bar break-in claims

Police Scotland received a report of a break-in at the Clutha bar in Glasgow at around 2.20am yesterday.

Jordan Parry, 16, Darren Melrose, 18 and Billy Jo Revie, 16, all from Glasgow, appeared on petition at Glasgow Sheriff Court today alongside another 16-year-old girl from Paisley who cannot be named for legal reasons.

All four were charged with theft by housebreaking. They made no plea during the private hearing and were remanded in custody.

They are expected to appear in court again on December 27.

The funeral of the 10th victim of the helicopter crash took place today at South Lanarkshire Crematorium, Blantyre.

Pub customer Joe Cusker, 59, was inside the pub when the police helicopter crashed through the roof on November 29.

Mr Cusker, of Cambuslang, near Glasgow, was pulled from the wreckage alive but died in hospital from his injuries almost two weeks later.

Funerals took place last week for the three helicopter crew who were killed - Pilot David Traill, 51, Pc Tony Collins, 43, and Pc Kirsty Nelis, 36 - and the six other pub customers who lost their lives.

They were John McGarrigle, 57, Mark O’Prey, 44, Gary Arthur, 48, Colin Gibson, 33, Robert Jenkins, 61, and Samuel McGhee, 56.

It has not yet been established what caused the helicopter to fall from the sky, although investigators said initial evidence rules out engine or gear box failure.
