Teenagers charged with road offences

A GROUP of teenagers were charged with road traffic offences after being spotted pushing a car into a petrol 
station.

The driver and passengers were all aged 14 and 15 years old and had taken the car without the owner’s consent.

The incident at Deer Park Service Station in Livingston on August 14 came during a police crackdown on unlicensed and uninsured drivers, which saw around 100 vehicles seized across Scotland.

Chief Superintendent Ralph Noble from Northern Constabulary, who led the campaign, said: “Once again we have seen that people are prepared to flout the law while driving.

“Drivers and vehicles are licensed and insured for a reason, and to ignore the rules is unacceptable. People may think that they can escape the law but we have shown with this campaign that this is not the case.”
