Teenager badly injured in accident with taxi

A TEENAGER is recovering in hospital after an accident in Edinburgh in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being knocked down by a taxi.

The accident, which involved a black cab, occurred at around 2.30am on George IV Bridge, near Edinburgh's city centre.

The victim was treated on the scene and then taken to the Western General Hospital in the city.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
