Teenager arrested over man’s death

A teenager has been arrested in connection with the death of a man two days before Christmas.

Christopher Bergin, 42, was found seriously injured in the stairwell of flats at Millhall Court in Plains, near Airdrie, in the early hours of Friday morning.

He was taken to Monklands Hospital in Airdrie where he died.

Strathclyde Police said that a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death.

He is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court tomorrow.
