Teenage girl charged with murder

Emma Merrilees, 19, will appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday.

Victim Nattalie Muir, 21, was found in Whitburn town centre, West Lothian, shortly before 3am last Saturday and was taken to hospital, where she died.

Ms Merrilees appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

George Stewart, 34, of West Calder, and a 15-year-old Whitburn boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also appeared at the same court that day charged with murder. They made no plea or declaration.

Stewart was remanded in custody and the boy was remanded to secure accommodation.
