The youth stabbed the boy before running off towards the Crookston Castle area.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the city’s Southern General Hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition.

The culprit is described as being white, about 15 to 16 years old and 5ft 5ins.

He is slim, with shoulder-length fair hair and he had stretched earrings in both ears. He was wearing a navy blue hooded top and black trousers.

Detective Constable Lauren Docherty, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: “The park was very busy at 10pm last night and although we have managed to speak to some of the youths within the park at this time, I believe there are many more we still have to speak to.”

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
