TED to be life and soul of EICC

Actress Thandie Newton, science writer Ben Goldacre and comedian Robin Ince are among those scheduled to appear in a four-day programme of inspiring speakers and performers next month.

The TEDGlobal Conference will feature 70 talks, performances and technology demonstrations at the EICC from July 11-15.

Also on the bill are philosopher Alain de Botton, singer Eddi Reader, director of the British Museum Neil MacGregor, and director of the United Nations World Food Programme, Josette Sheeran. TED European director Bruno Giussani said: "The TEDGlobal 2011 speakers will celebrate life in all its forms."
