Teacher dies after flat fire
TRIBUTES were yesterday paid to a primary school teacher who died after a fire in a tenement block in Aberdeen.
Selina Corrigan, 46, died in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being rescued from her flat in Alexander Terrace, Tillydrone, late on Monday night.
A male resident of the block was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation as fire crews led 21 men, women and children to safety.
Mrs Corrigan was a teacher at Woodside Primary. Sandy Burr, the headteacher, said the whole community is devastated by her death.
