Taxing time's running short

RESIDENTS in Edinburgh and the Lothians are being urged to make sure they get their online tax returns in on time.

HM Revenue & Customs is urging anyone sending their tax return online for the first time register now ahead of the January 31 deadline. The paper-filing deadline has passed, so any outstanding 2009/10 self assessment returns must now be completed online. Around 127,000 people in Lothian and the Borders file a self assessment return every year.
