Taxi driver is cut free after bus collision

A TAXI driver had to be cut free from his vehicle after it was in collision with an Edinburgh Airport bus just after 5pm yesterday.

The driver of the Skoda private hire vehicle had to be cut free by firefighters after the collision, which saw the A8 closed westbound opposite North Gyle Road.

He is understood to have had breathing difficulties and was taken to the ERI by ambulance. There are not thought to have been any other casualties. An ambulance service spokeswoman said a man was taken to hospital with a pain on his right hand side.
