Taste of the future as restaurant opens up at former tea rooms

A NEW restaurant is to open this weekend on the site of an iconic tea room.

Loopy Lorna’s was put up for sale earlier this year, stunning residents in Morningside who had become accustomed to its quirky presence.

The property on Morningside Road will now open as an Italian-themed cafe after a deal was struck through The Restaurant agency.

Caffe e Cucina is the brainchild of Ernesto and Lisa Crolla, who have been involved with Italian restaurants in the city centre.

Alan Goldie, director of the Restaurant Agency, said: “There understandably was an amazing level of interest when Gaynor of Loopy Lorna’s put the site on the market.

“I know Ernesto and Lisa have the same drive and ambition to make a success of their new business venture.

“They have committed to a new lease and this should ensure some longevity of occupation for the future.”

Loopy Lorna’s at the nearby Church Hill Theatre remains in business.
