Talks inspire bands’ album

A GROUP of leading independent musicians have recorded an album in the Capital.

The artists, including Mercury Prize nominee King Creosote, Slow Club and Indian folk rocker The Raghu Dixit, produced the album over five days last week.

The album was inspired partly by the TEDGlobal series of talks at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, which were streamed live into the recording studio. It will be called the Dewarist Sessions Part One and is set for general release later this year.

The collaboration concluded with a performance by the group at The Caves nightclub.

King Creosote said of the experience: “It was great getting in the studio together as stylistically we’ve all evolved and it was interesting to see how all of our individual sounds combine.”
