Take steps to tackle lung conditions

A NEW walking group set up to help people with breathing problems has been organised in East Lothian.

The group, hosted by the East and Midlothian Pulmonary Rehabilitation service, aims to encourage people with lung conditions to get more exercise.

Amanda Stears, specialist physiotherapist at East and Midlothian Community Health Partnership, said: "If you have a lung condition, being more active can help make a positive difference to your health.

"Walking is a great way to build confidence and aid rehabilitation.

"I've seen people who've started these groups and barely been able to walk 100 yards and by the end they're walking and talking for half an hour without stopping."
