Switch for mining gear

FIVE large artefacts at Prestongrange Industrial Heritage Museum have been relocated to Newtongrange after 30 years being battered by the elements at the East Lothian attraction.

Two weather-beaten cages and a hopper – and two wagons – which were formerly inside the pithead baths, will now have a new, sheltered home at Newtongrange as part of a wider display of other artefacts relating to the Scottish coal industry and coal communities.
