Suspected ex-SS officer dies in city
Bohdan Tymkewycz, who died last week at the Western General, is understood to have been an officer in the 16,000-strong 14th Waffen SS Galizien Division, whose members have been accused of taking part in a string of atrocities during the Second World War.
There is no suggestion Mr Tymkewycz, who was 91 when he died, was directly involved.

Mr Tymkewycz’s son, Councillor Stefan Tymkewycz, SNP member for Craigentinny and Duddingston, has been unwilling to discuss his father’s past in public.
