Surveying the cost of selling your property

A CAMPAIGN has been launched in the city urging homeowners to "cut out the middleman" when selling their properties.

Don't Go Round The Houses advises people to go to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) for their home report.

The campaign has been welcomed by Which? after concerns about variations in price and advice from estate agents and legal firms.

Graeme Hartley, RICS Scotland director, said: "You wouldn't employ a decorator to fit your boiler, so why go to a third party to arrange your home report?"
